Zapping is one of the abilities granted to Alex Mack after having been doused in the GC-161 chemical. This power manifests as yellow energy bolts that are fired directly from her fingertips and serves as Alex's primary method of offense.

Alex typically focuses this power through her fingertips and allows her to temporarily shock or repulse objects or people away from her, short-circuit or reprogram technology, effectively allowing her to pick electronic locks. In its most basic form, it manifests as electricity though over the course of the series, she later learns to focus it into high-density beams that can knock a human being on their back. As shown in two instances, she can also create impressive light shows such as a makeshift constellation or a nova burst.
